Where the details come from
- E-invoices. Many invoices that arrive by email as PDF are ZUGFeRD or Factur-X invoices: they carry the invoice data inside the file, in a machine-readable form. PaperSweep reads that data directly.
- GiroCode on paper bills. The square code that many utility and service bills print near the payment details is a GiroCode. It contains the payee, IBAN, amount and reference. PaperSweep reads it from your scan.
Because both are structured data, PaperSweep doesn't have to interpret the page. If a document has neither, nothing is filled in rather than something guessed.
What you see
In your results, each of these documents gets a small green label, "E-invoice" or "Payment QR code", followed by the amount, the payee, the IBAN, the reference and, for e-invoices, the due date. Invoices paid by direct debit are marked as such, so they don't look like bills you still have to transfer.
The Excel file gains matching columns. The amounts are real numbers, so you can add them up and get the total of a month's bills in one step.
Good to know
A multi-page e-invoice always stays together as one document. And because e-invoice PDFs already contain their text, PaperSweep reads it from the file instead of scanning the pages again.
Try it
Put your next batch of bills, scanned and downloaded, into one upload on papersweep.eu and open the Excel file afterwards.
